OUR STORY

The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people in the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres. 

The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

THE ROLE

NT012 – Project Officer – Native Title Claims

CL 5 – CL 6 (Starting $83,685 progressing to $103,828)

 

The Central Land Council (CLC) is the native title representative body (NTRB) for the southern region of

the Northern Territory. As such, the CLC fulfils the functions under the Native Title Act 1993 (Native

Title Act) in relation to the securing of, and advocating for, the native title rights of its constituents.

Additionally, the CLC provides support services to native title corporations, referred to as prescribed

body corporates (PBCs} and similar entities, assisting these entities access potential enterprise

development opportunities to achieve financial independence.

The Native Title Program consists of three key functional areas: preparing native title claims to secure

the rights and interests of our constituents; establish and provide support to Prescribed Body

Corporates (PBC} to manage native title rights and provides enterprise development support to PBCs

and similar entities.

Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
