OUR STORY

The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people in the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres. 

The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

THE ROLE

MI015 - SENIOR MINERALS AND ENERGY OFFICER

SO C (Starting at $115,873 progressing to $125,122)

 

Under broad direction of the Manager Minerals and Energy support the effective operation of the Minerals and Energy Section in assisting traditional Aboriginal owners to make informed decisions about development projects in the CLC region, and oversee the monitoring of impacts and receipt of benefits from projects, in accordance with the CLCs statutory functions under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 and the Native Title Act 1993.

Supervise assigned Minerals and Energy staff, liaise with traditional owners, companies and government and provide technical, strategic and policy advice to CLC staff on minerals, energy and infrastructure projects and submissions, and implement and oversee internal systems and processes.

Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
