OUR STORY

The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people in the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres. 

The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

THE ROLE

LM043 – Indigenous Protected Area (IPA) Facilitator

CL 6 (Starting at $90,386 progressing to $103,828)

 

ONGOING CONTRACT

 

This position will facilitate the implementation of indigenous land management on Aboriginal land in the Central Western Desert region of the NT. Based in Alice Springs, the IPA Facilitator will work with regional traditional owners, the Walungurru and Anangu Luritjiku Aboriginal Rangers, and wider community to:

  1. a) Assess progress and implement the Nganana ngurra tjukurrpa tjungungku witira, nintira kanyintjaku: ‘Together we are holding, teaching and keeping our country and law strong’ Central Western Desert Indigenous Protected Area Plan of Management;
  2. b) Facilitate on‐going cultural and natural resource management planning;
  3. c) Assist the Walungurru and Anangu Luritjiku Ranger Group Facilitator with the supervision of the Rangers.

Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
